The Supreme Court is likely to hear on May 5 a plea seeking direction to initiate a suo motu contempt case against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for allegedly making derogatory and scandalising remarks against the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India. The petition sought directions to the Union Home Ministry to issue an advisory to all Chief Secretaries of states to curb the hate and provocative speeches by the political parties and their leaders related to the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
