Srinagar: Taxi Drivers Hit Hard As Tourist Footfall Drops Post Pahalgam Attack

The Kashmir Valley, renowned for its stunning landscapes and thriving tourism, has long depended on visitors to support its economy. However, the deadly terrorist attack near the town of Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives on April 22, has dealt a severe blow to the region's tourism industry. One group particularly affected are the taxi drivers, who are struggling to manage their expenses amid a sharp decline in tourist arrivals. Drivers at a taxi stand on Boulevard Road along Dal Lake said they are finding it difficult to make ends meet due to the drop in business.
