Mumbai is all set to unveil its first land-based cable-stayed bridge at Reay Road in South Mumbai. The 383-metre-long Reay Road Road Over Bridge (ROB) will provide crucial east-west connectivity by linking Mahul Road near the Eastern Freeway to Barrister Nath Pai Marg in Byculla. Built at a cost of Rs 273 crore, the six-lane bridge is expected to significantly ease congestion along the Byculla-Mazgaon corridor and cut commute time by up to 30 minutes. Spanning the busy Harbour railway line, the bridge is a major infrastructure milestone for South Mumbai’s traffic-strangled neighborhoods.
